1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Thread Context Chrome extension ("Extension", "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Extension.

Thread Context ("we", "us", "our") reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes through the Extension or via email. Your continued use of the Extension after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

Thread Context is a Chrome extension that allows users to create new, focused discussion threads at any point in their existing AI conversations with platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. The Extension enables users to:

• Highlight text within AI conversations and create sub-conversations
• Maintain full context from the original conversation in new threads
• Organize and manage multiple conversation threads simultaneously
• Access threads through a convenient side panel interface

3. User Accounts and Registration

To use Thread Context, you may be required to create an account or authenticate through a third-party service (such as Google). You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• Use the Extension for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws)
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Extension or its servers
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
• Use the Extension to transmit any harmful code, viruses, or malware
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Extension
• Use automated means to access the Extension without our express written permission
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
• Violate the terms of service of third-party AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini)

5. Permissions and Data Access

The Extension requires the following Chrome permissions to function:

• Storage: To save your thread data, preferences, and settings locally
• Context Menus: To provide right-click options for creating threads from selected text
• Tabs: To interact with your active browser tabs and detect AI conversation pages
• Side Panel: To display the thread management interface
• Notifications: To send you alerts about thread updates and Extension activities

These permissions are used solely to provide the core functionality of the Extension. We do not access, collect, or transmit any data beyond what is necessary for the Extension to operate.

6. Third-Party Services

Thread Context integrates with third-party AI platforms including but not limited to ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), and Gemini (Google). Your use of these platforms through our Extension is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies:

We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of these third-party services. Any issues with these platforms should be directed to their respective providers.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

The Extension, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Thread Context and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain all rights to the content you create using the Extension, including your conversation threads and any text you input. By using the Extension, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The Extension will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• The results obtained from using the Extension will be accurate or reliable
• Any errors in the Extension will be corrected
• The Extension will be compatible with all systems or browsers

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THREAD CONTEXT, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

• Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Extension
• Any conduct or content of any third party on the Extension
• Any content obtained from the Extension
• Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Thread Context and its affiliates, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Extension.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Extension immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Extension will cease immediately. You may also terminate your account at any time by uninstalling the Extension and ceasing all use of the Service.

All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

12. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Extension (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Extension.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Thread Context operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located within that jurisdiction for the purpose of litigating all such claims or disputes.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Extension shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiations. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may pursue legal action.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service and supersede any prior agreements.
